چکیده

The purpose of this paper is to extend [Ouyang, L. Y., Chuang, B. R. (2001). A periodic review inventory-control system with variable lead time. International Journal of Information and Management Sciences, 12, 1–13] periodic review inventory model with variable lead time by considering the fuzziness of expected demand shortage and backorder rate. We fuzzify the expected shortage quantity at the end of cycle and the backorder (or lost sales) rate, and then obtain the fuzzy total expected annual cost. Using the signed distance method to defuzzify, we derive the estimate of total expected annual cost in the fuzzy sense. For the proposed model, we provide a solution procedure to find the optimal review period and optimal lead time in the fuzzy sense so that the total expected annual cost in the fuzzy sense has a minimum value. Furthermore, a numerical example is provided and the results of fuzzy and crisp models are compared. 2007 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

A multi-objective inventory model for deteriorating items with backorder and stock dependent demand

Classical deterministic inventory models consider the demand rate to be either constant or time-dependent but independent from the stock status. However, for a certain type of inventory, the demand rate may be in-fluenced by the stock level. Also in many real-life problems, some products such as fruits, vegetables, phar-maceuticals and volatile liquids continuously deteriorate to evaporation, o...

The Variable Lead Time Stochastic Inventory Model with a Fuzzy Backorder Rate

Cost and operation of inventory depends a great deal on what happens to demand when the system is out of stock. In real inventory systems, it is more reasonable to assume that part of the excess demand is backordered and the rest is lost. However, the amount of backorders (or lost sales) often incurs disturbance due to various uncertainties. To incorporate this reality, this article attempts to...

Fuzzy EPQ inventory models with backorder

Abstract This paper considers the economic production quantity (EPQ) problem with backorder in which the setup cost, the holding cost and the backorder cost are characterized as fuzzy variables, respectively. Following expected value criterion and chance constrained criterion, a fuzzy expected value model (EVM) and a chance constrained programming (CCP) model are constructed. Then fuzzy simulat...

Inventory Model for Deteriorating Items Involving Fuzzy with Shortages and Exponential Demand

This paper considers the fuzzy inventory model for deteriorating items for power demand under fully backlogged conditions. We define various factors which are affecting the inventory cost by using the shortage costs. An intention of this paper is to study the inventory modelling through fuzzy environment. Inventory parameters, such as holding cost, shortage cost, purchasing cost and deteriorati...

A multi-objective wholesaler–retailers inventory-distribution model with controllable lead-time based on probabilistic fuzzy set and triangular fuzzy number

This paper develops a single wholesaler and multi retailers mixture inventory distribution model for a single item involving controllable lead-time with backorder and lost sales. The retailers purchase their items from the wholesaler in lots at some intervals throughout the year to meet the customers’ demand. Not to loose the demands, the retailers offer a price discount to the customers on the...
